The southwest corner of Idaho where I call home has some of the richest farm land in the country. It is also home to the capital of Idaho, Boise. Boise is the home to Micron Technologies, the printer division of Hewlett-Packard, and numerous technology, medical and service related industries. Southwest Idaho is a diverse area offering access to a major airport, Boise Airport. Southwest Idaho is also the home to The College of Idaho, Northwest Nazarene University and Boise State University are all located in southwest Idaho.
South Central Idaho is one of the most beautiful and vast areas of Idaho. Thousands of acres of farm land dot the landscape and huge fields of wheat, potatoes, alfalfa, etc. are a common site. The Snake River carves through through this country with it's beautiful canyon walls and the water falls in Twin Falls is something to behold.
Southeastern Idaho is home to Idaho State University in Pocatello which is located just north of Utah and west of Wyoming. This area offers access to great fishing and hiking and is the home to many technology, medical and service industies. The city of Idaho Falls is located just north of Pocatello and is less than an hour from the famous Yellowstone National Park. The cities of Pocatello and Idaho Falls have had very strong economies for the past several years.
Central Idaho is home to many hundreds of mountain lakes, rivers and streams. The most well known area is McCall, Idaho located 2 1/2 hours north of Boise. McCall is the home to Payette Lake and Brundage Ski Resort. I have told many friends that Payette Lake in McCall reminds me of the movie "On Golden Pond" with it's peaceful and stunning beauty. The Salmon River is a popular destination place for many fishermen and white water enthousiasts.
Northern Idaho is the home to Coeur d' Alene Idaho with beautiful Lake Coeur d' Alene as its main attraction. Barbara Walters once referred to Coeur d' Alene Idaho as "A Little Slice of Heaven". With its beautiful mountains, rivers, streams and lakes, northern Idaho offers some of the most attractive mountain areas anywhere in the nation.
