Boise Idaho named 2nd best place for Business and Careers
In March of 2008 Forbes has once again given the top honors for cities that offer the best climate for busines and careers. Boise Idaho has been named the 2nd best city by Forbes and is 2nd only to Raleigh N.C. in national rankings. Boise is the the only city ranked in the top 5 located in the Pacific Northwest. In it's Best Places For Business And Careers Boise is ranked 13th in job growth in the entire nation.
In September of 2007 USA Today wrote the article No End In Site For Idaho's Growth stating that Idaho scored a "Triple Play" by having a strong technology base, agriculture (highlighted by it's famous potato production) and it's amenities which include hiking, hunting, fishing, skiing and white water rafting that attracts tourists and new residents, from billionaires to young outdoor enthousiasts.

Boise has become a popular destination point with it's international airport giving it easy access from most parts of the country. Boise is known as the "City of Trees" and is well known for it's diverse cultures and strong economic growth. Micron Technology is the major employer of Idaho and is located in Boise as is the headquarters for Hewlett Packards printer division. Semi-pro Hockey and basketball have been very popular in the winter months as has been the Boise River as it flows through downtown Boise. Many fine housing developments, restaurants, greenbelts and parks border the river and many people cool off in the summer by floating the river in inner tubes and rafts.
Housing is still very affordable with very nice homes still being found in the low $200,000 price ranges in Boise and nearby Meridian. The more one travels west of Boise the less expensive homes become with homes in nearby Caldwell, just 30 minutes to the west, averaging in the low $100,000 price range.
